Kings of Convenience was brilliant.
I haven't heard very much of their songs, I based my decision to go almost solely on my love for I'd Rather Dance With You. They're acoustic live though, and I was worried I might get a little bored but noooo was I ever wrong.
The music was gorgeous and captivating all through, when they first started I was like, what is this. They are so awesome live. And so adorable! Hamsty and I are kind of in love, we were walking around after the concert with stupid grins on our faces.
Gorgeous music + adorable musicians and their interactions + their evident enjoyment in their music = awesome. Seriously, gorgeous music. Their two voices together are stunning, as are some guitar and guitar/piano parts. If you were on stage you'd probably see a sea of happy, blissed out faces. (Or perhaps just inky blackness.)
I was in the first row, it was the best idea ever. Although I had to crane my neck a little to see, it was totally worth it. Was only a metre or two away from them, the view was awesome. You could the way Eirik kept turning to Erlend, their quirky antics on stage, how into their music they were. Could even hear them talking to each other between songs/during instrumentals. In Norweigian, but still. They're so brilliant together, and Erlend is off the scales levels of adorableness. His hat! His glasses! His dance during I'd Rather Dance With You!
And I swear Erlend met my eyes, maybe Eirik too. I know as performers it's something they try to do to everyone, but it still makes me super happy. I didn't know what to do when our eyes met though, I kind of shiftily looked away.
They invited the audience to stand at some point, and being in the first row i ended up right in front of the stage, with my elbows on it. When Erlend was dancing around during I'd Rather Dance With You, I could totally reach out and touch his shoes. Was very tempted to actually. He was seriously right in front of me, I had to tilt my camera to the ceiling in order to get his head in the shot. Also was rather surprised that no one ruffled their hair when they bowed to the audience, heh.
Okay I'm very tired and can't be bothered to record every single detail. Suffice to say that it was awesome and I didn't even know the songs and I'd definitely go again. Wish I could be there tomorrow! (To be continued with pictures.)
I'd rather dance with you,
